The organisation manages a number of Government social finance schemes, including Futurebuilders England, Communitybuilders, the Social Enterprise Investment Fund and the Modernisation Fund.

Their "Investing in the Future" report revealed the body had received 3,000 applications totalling £500 million in just 12 months.

The chief executive of the Social Investment Business, Jonathan Lewis, said the report proved the need for increased social investment in the sector:

“We want to build on our success by attracting more money into the sector, so that we can help more organisations do more of what they do best – help individuals and communities most in need."
