17/05/2012 - Working Well Design Challenge Aims to Boost Employment for Young People
The Design Council's new Working Well Design Challenge is a competition urging designers and youth organisations to work together to boost digital products and services, increasing education and employment opportunities for young people in the UK.
The programme will provide three teams with up to £50,000 each to cover design and development costs. The selected teams will also benefit from support and publicity through national media, exposure to new markets and expert advice from professionals.
The funding can be used towards supporting the design and development of new digital products and services. This could be a website, a mobile application or a new way of interpreting data. It could also be the design of a service that is supported by technology, but doesn't use it to directly work with young people.
Businesses and non-profit-making organisations that work with young people in the UK and technology designers and developers who create digital products and services, may apply to the challenge.
The deadline for receipt of applications is 20 June 2012.
