Wiltshire Social Enterprise Supports UK Community Projects

Bag4Sport Limited (B4S) is a social enterprise that helps third sector organisations turn unwanted clothes into cash for community projects.

B4S works to promote recycling and waste awareness by offering a reward for groups to gather together all their old clothes and textiles, such as curtains and bedding, so they can be sent to people in less privileged countries. The scheme pays organisations 40p per kg of textiles collected and issues a payment within 6 weeks.

A collection of 50 full bags may equal up to £200 for the organisation, while B4S will pay an additional 2% on top of donations weighing more than a tonne. Alternatively organisations can nominate a development enterprise to receive the donation.

The company has already helped over 300 groups raise in excess of £40,000.

B4S collects:

  • Clothing.
  • Bedding.
  • Curtains.
  • Soft toys.

The company is also involved with the KitAid charity (opens in new window), which takes unused sports kits from local clubs across the UK and gives them to communities across the developing world.
