Futurebuilders Fund Closed To Applications
The Futurebuilders England Fund has been closed to new applications following an overwhelming number of funding bids.
The fund was initiated in 2004 to provide finance to third sector organisations, helping them build their capacity to deliver public services.
Managed by The Social Investment Business, the fund has processed thousands of applications, making 370 investments leading to the delivery of 230 public sector contracts.
The fund will review existing commitments and applications but will not accept new applications.
CEO of The Social Investment Business, Jonathan Lewis, said:
“We now have a proven model that can deliver social investment on a large scale, investing for social as well as financial return. The Social Investment Business wants to see billions more brought into the sector.
“We will build on our success in attracting money from private as well as public sources, so that we can help more charities and social enterprises do what they do best – support the communities and individuals most in need.”
